Gene Autry awaits the arrival of his friend Flapjack Hobbs in Boonville, but a bearded killer named Jocko arrives instead and attempts to intercept him. Gene fights off the impostor and discovers that the real Flapjack has been murdered. Gene pursues Jocko and the other criminals involved in the scheme, ultimately tracking them to El Dorado as they attempt to escape with their stolen loot. In a confrontation at their hideout, Gene defeats the outlaws and recovers the treasure, bringing the culprits to justice.
