Generation X #10
In "La citadelle au bout du chemin," the Gen X team splits across a strange, shifting dimension as Jubilee and Chamber follow Elwood’s guidance in search of Synch, while Banshee, Husk, and Penance ride a mysterious train led by the mutant rat Dirt Nap. Written by Larry Hama and Nicole Duclos, with art by Andy Smith and inks by Sean Parsons, this 1999 issue features a surreal, puzzle-like journey through a dimension where the rules of reality bend — all leading toward the Citadel of the Universal Amalgamator. The cover by Terry Dodson and Rachel Dodson captures the dreamlike tension of the journey.

Jubilee and Chamber are in an alternate dimension looking for Synch while being guided by Elwood. Banshee, Husk and Penance are in another spot of the same dimension for the very same reason being guided by the mutant rat, Dirt Nap, and find a train to ride. Synch is trapped and has been brought to the Citadel of the Universal Amalgamator where M-Plate plans on forcing him to use his mutant power to combine the consciousness of every being in the universe into one. Emma and Skin appease the Token and find the mystic creature having a tea party with Artie, Leech and the missing local girl.
