Generation X #2
In "Searching," the young mutants of Generation X face a mystery when they discover the injured Penance on their doorstep, leading to uneasy questions about her origins and the strange similarities she shares with the vampire Emplate. With storm clouds gathering and their own instincts turning against them, the team must track down a runaway Penance—only to realize the danger isn’t just out there, but closing in from all sides. Written by Scott Lobdell and brought to life with striking visuals by Chris Bachalo, with inks by Mark Buckingham and colors by Steve Buccellato and Electric Crayon, this 1994 issue captures the group’s growing tension and vulnerability in a world that doesn’t understand them. The cover, also by Bachalo and Buckingham, perfectly captures the storm-lit unease of the moment.

Generation X tries to figure out what to do with the wounded mutant, Penance, they have found on the front lawn. M posits that she may have been a "food source" for the mutant vampire, Emplate, as they have similar characteristics. Penance wakes up in the medical ward and cuts her way out to escape. The team heads out in a thunderstorm to find her but quickly find that they are not the hunters but the hunted.
