Generation X #21

Nov 1996 · Marvel · 1.95 USD; 2.75 CAD
“To Live and Die and Molt in L.A.”

In "To Live and Die and Molt in L.A.", the latest chapter of Generation X finds the team split between Xavier’s school and the streets of Los Angeles, where Beast’s arrival for student evaluations takes an unexpected turn when M suddenly blanks out during a test—leading Beast to suggest a possible connection to autism. Meanwhile, in a chaotic detour, Chamber and Howard the Duck stage a bar brawl with the Torres gang to give Skin the space to handle a personal matter, all while the team’s dynamics shift under pressure. Written by Scott Lobdell and brought to life by Chris Bachalo’s expressive art, with inks by Joe Pimentel and colors by Steve Buccellato, the issue’s cover by Bachalo and Pimentel captures the wild energy of the story’s dual narratives.

Beast arrives at Xavier's school to administer tests to the students and M blanks out during the exercise. Beast tells Sean and Emma that he believes this is because M is autistic. On the road in L.A., Chamber and Howard the Duck keep the Torres gang busy (read: bar fight) so that Skin can take care of a little family business.
