"Only a Kid to Him" follows a young woman named Evie who falls for Raymond Barry, a man she helps at his family's driving school business, but he shows interest only in her maturity and helpfulness rather than romantic attraction. When Evie's brother Bob and Raymond start a new business together, Evie pursues Raymond relentlessly, though he repeatedly tells her there are "plenty of good jobs" for her age and that he cannot return her romantic feelings. A separate story features a cowboy who meets and courts a woman named Laurie on horseback, telling her she is the sweetest and most genuine girl he's ever known, and he proposes to speak with her father about becoming a member of his family. A third story centers on a woman named Pauline who catches the eye of the famous actor Randy Willis at a dance; after he kisses her in Hollywood, she becomes swept up in the glamour, though he expresses concerns about the differences in their lives and suggests she shouldn't pursue a relationship with someone who cannot possibly fit into her world.
