Goodnight, Irene #[nn]
In "Face the Facts of Love," Irene finds herself stranded on a strange island with Debbie, a plus-sized woman, and Irma, a giraffe woman, after being kidnapped by the enigmatic Bryce Setruse—whose second head is an evil Siamese twin. As Setruse’s twisted plans unfold and a severed head is reattached with unsettling precision, Irene begins to see the truth behind his obsession. Meanwhile, Kurt’s desperate search for her leads him to financial ruin and a humbling plea for help. With a surreal blend of intimacy and absurdity, Carol Lay crafts a story where love, identity, and reality blur on the edge of madness. The entire story, from script to inks, is a singular vision by Carol Lay, with her distinctive art defining both the narrative and the cover.
