Grandes Viajes #106
In "A Bordo de un Ballenero," young Neil, adrift after losing his parents in a car accident, finds unexpected purpose when his friend Albert Barrow invites him to join a whaling expedition aboard the Stella. Led by Albert’s uncle, Captain Rufus, the crew of twenty-two sets out across the frozen seas—only to face a harrowing ordeal when Albert falls gravely ill and is hospitalized in Leith Harbour. When the Stella becomes trapped in ice and finally breaks free, the crew discovers a devastating loss. Drawn with quiet intensity by Luis Macharé, this 1971 tale from Editorial Novaro captures the weight of isolation and the fragile bonds that sustain us in the harshest of environments.
