Victor Frankenstein creates a man but fears it; the abandoned creation longs to be part of society but is rejected because of his monstrous appearance. The monster demands Victor create a mate for him, but Victor destroys the intended mate. The monster kills Victor's wife Elizabeth in retaliation and Victor chases the monster north, finally perishing aboard Robert Walton's ship. The monster visits his dead maker's body and decides to destroy himself.
