A flower shop worker named John becomes engaged to Linda and dreams of their successful future together, but grows increasingly jealous and insecure as she pursues her own ambitions. When John loses his job at a clothing store after being caught making advances toward a female customer, his jealousy intensifies, driving him to leave town. After Linda visits her flowers to a train station, she encounters Ted Alberts, a man she had known from childhood, and gradually develops romantic feelings for him over John's absence. John eventually returns to the station to win Linda back, and Ted graciously steps aside, allowing John and Linda to reunite and board a train together as a couple.
