Green Arrow / Black Canary #9
The cover by Cliff Chiang says it all — Black Canary and Green Arrow ride what appears to be an outstretched, red-suited Plastic Man through a spooky tangle of bare blue trees, the arc of his elongated body serving as their unlikely bridge. It's a genuinely fun visual that captures the lighter energy promised by the "Stretching a Point" cover tag and the guest-starring billing for Plastic Man. With Judd Winick writing and Mike Norton and Wayne Faucher handling interior art, this August 2008 issue looks like a sharp blend of action and humor from one of DC's best pairings.
