Hugh Standish vacations while Vicki and Jim fly off to meet with Professor Atbee, whose bathysphere takes him and Vicki on an exploratory deep dive while Jim remains on deck. Meanwhile, Hutch, Atbee's assistant, along with first mate Petmann, commandeer a mutiny. They raise the bathysphere, kidnap Vicki and the professor along with the others and sail off to the location of a sunken Spanish galleon. Jim is able to get a message off to Standish before he is pistol-whipped by one of the crew and it's then up to the Grey Domino to rescue the professor and the others and apprehend the mutineers.
