The subtitle says it all — A Love Story to Die For — and this cover from Kurtis J. Wiebe and Aluisio C. Santos delivers on that darkly romantic promise with style. A sharp-eyed young woman perches coolly atop a sleek sports car, a massive scythe blade cutting dramatically across the hot-pink backdrop while crimson drips frame the scene like a Valentine soaked in doom. Image's Shadowline imprint was turning out some genuinely distinctive work in 2012, and this second issue looks like a perfect blend of dark humor and pulse-racing energy.
