The Guardians of the Galaxy are short on funds, and to get out of financial jeopardy they agree to a simple delivery mission: to bring Deacon Delcario and the cosmic Mother Stone he's transporting to the planet Ravolia. Delcario warns the Guardians to never bring six people within the immediate vicinity of the Mother Stone. Mid-flight, Deacon Delcario suddenly collapses, dead. As the five Guardians puzzle over his death, Pip the Troll appears to try to steal the Mother Stone, providing a sixth person; all six are engulfed in a flash of light from the Stone.
