Hap Hazard, a house de-haunter extraordinary, is hired to rid a location of supernatural disturbances. After initially reading a ghost story to steel himself, Hap encounters a shadowy figure and engages it in combat, discovering his opponent to be a dupe who flees. That night, Hap performs as a singing crooner for an audience, where he wows the crowd with his entertainment. Later, Hap becomes entangled in a case involving a mysterious magician named Mysterious Miller, whose bag of magic escape chains goes missing—ultimately revealed to be in the possession of the mysterious Miller himself, who was waiting at the station asking for his bag.
