"Web of the Widow" follows an expedition into an Egyptian pyramid where members encounter a monstrous temple spider—a creature described as half-woman, half-thing from the depths—that hunts and kills the explorers. "Phantoms are Fatal to Fakers" tells of Martin Buckson, a con artist posing as a big-game hunter who encounters a gorilla's ghost while telling tall tales about his exploits; the phantom proves deadly to his deception. The third story centers on a village pub where a man named Tom encounters a mysterious artist fellow and becomes entangled with a woman named Cynthia, with supernatural elements involving the artist's true nature threatening the couple.
In the haunted halls of the Rex Arms, a young man races to save his fiancée, Liza, after her jealous Bulgarian ex, Gregor, dies by suicide—only to return as a vengeful spirit seeking her soul. As Liza falls mysteriously ill and begins having terrifying visions, her lover uncovers a hidden collection of occult items that reveal Gregor has become a vampire of the spirit, drawn to claim her. With time running out, he must use a blood-filled bottle and a silver medal to trap the creature before it claims her forever.
In "Web of the Widow," the fate of Egyptologist Matt Taylor hangs in the balance after a bite from a temple spider leaves him near death. When a mysterious woman named Suthina appears out of nowhere to heal him, hope rises—until Matt begins to suspect her strange fascination with spiders may be far more sinister than he imagined. With Molly Taylor, Mr. Cantwell, and Christopher Fly caught in the growing dread, the line between savior and predator begins to blur.
Martin Buckson, a self-proclaimed big game hunter and explorer, finds himself in a dire situation when his fabricated reputation catches up to him—his new girlfriend, Nella, insists on joining his next expedition, forcing him to actually travel to Africa to maintain his lie. As he and Nella venture into the jungle, they're soon confronted by real dangers: a charging gorilla and a tribe of hostile natives, each testing the limits of his deception and bravery.
Tom Court, a farm laborer, spirals into jealousy and rage after believing his lover, Cynthia Hyde, has betrayed him for another man. Driven by obsession, he plots a brutal revenge, only to face a chilling, supernatural reckoning when a pair of swans seem to fix him with an unnerving, knowing gaze.
