"Coward's Curse" follows Jim and Cynthia Loring, who become stranded at a supposedly haunted house in Spain in 1925 while their car breaks down. Inside, they encounter supernatural horrors and learn from an old woman that the house is cursed with the vengeful spirit of King Charles I, whose disembodied head was hidden in a trunk and now seeks to destroy all who inhabit the dwelling. A second story involves a man who discovers the preserved head of King Charles I and brings it to Doctor Trelawney, only to have it mysteriously disappear, suggesting the supernatural curse may follow those who possess it.
