Hit Comics #2
Hit Comics #2 is part of the opening wave of the BSV series that brought Marvel's Silver Age Fantastic Four to German-speaking readers for the first time in 1966, making it one of the earliest domestic appearances of the complete FF cast — Mr. Fantastic, the Invisible Girl, the Human Torch, and the Thing — in Germany. The issue also carries the Frightful Four villains (the Wizard, the Trapster, Sandman, and Medusa) into the German market, meaning that Medusa's first appearance in German-language comics falls within this very early run. As the second issue of Germany's first Marvel anthology, it belongs to a historically pivotal set of comics that established the template BSV would follow for seven years before eventually spinning each Marvel hero into a dedicated series.

The Hit Comics series was launched in September 1966 by Bildschriftenverlag (BSV), a Hamburg-based publisher that had operated since 1956 under a succession of names and that was acquired by National Periodical Publications (later DC Comics) the same year it debuted Marvel material. BSV operated under a relatively free licensing arrangement that allowed the editorial team to draw on Marvel stories from different titles and different publication years within a single anthology format, presenting German readers with a curated but non-chronological sampling of the Silver Age Marvel universe. The 'Williams' suffix in the imprint name reflects the later corporate branding — from 1972 onward, Warner Communications unified its European comic publishing under the Williams label — but the earliest issues including #2 were published under the BSV Bildschriftenverlag imprint.
