In "Vernichtet Atlantis!", Namor returns to his underwater kingdom only to find it under siege by the Plunderer. As their forces clash, a passing American submarine, detecting the chaos, unleashes depth charges—unintentionally leveling much of Atlantis and leaving Namor unconscious. With the city in ruins and the Atlantean army now driven to the surface, a war against the world above seems inevitable.
