Tommy is depressed and feeling sorry for himself when his buddy, Natt the Hat, convinces him to go to Noonan's for some beers. At the bar, Noonan introduces them to Maggie Lorenzo, who asks Tommy's help in finding her missing boy, Michael. Tommy and Natt head out into the bowels of a devastated Gotham, ruined by an earthquake and mightily depopulated. It's night when they finally find Michael but he is suddenly killed by a vampire, whom they quickly destroy. Realizing there are too many vampires about they seek sanctuary in a church but find a sinister looking vampire waiting for them.
