This issue contains two Hoot Gibson western stories. In "Gage City's Terror Trail," a lone girl running a western freight line seeks Hoot Gibson's protection as gunfire erupts along the trail, and Hoot agrees to help guard her against the violence threatening her operation. In "Gunsmoke on Hot Head Trail," Hoot encounters an outlaw named Red Williams who has committed his last crime—a stagecoach robbery near a cabin in the hills—and after a confrontation, Red Williams is captured, tried, and sentenced to be hanged, bringing an end to his criminal reign.
