☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThis issue contains a complete wild western novelette along with two adventure stories. "Brink of Disaster" features R.C. and Quickie caught in a rockslide and cliffside peril during which they must escape a collapsing ledge and use their wits to survive, with Quickie's quick thinking and a convenient Royal Crown Cola providing aid. The main story follows Hopalong Cassidy as he investigates a mysterious couch moving inside a house, discovering Mesquite hidden beneath, leading to a reunion. "Whitey Whiskers Auctioned Off" depicts a farmer preparing to auction off his old ranch equipment and hiring help, offering ten dollars for labor during the auction day.
Hopalong Cassidy arrives in the frontier town of Twin River, where he soon finds himself tangled in a web of deception when a fugitive known only as Hogg Girth sets up a criminal operation with a trio of outlaws. As the outlaw leader schemes to rob a stagecoach carrying gold, Hopalong must intervene—first stopping a mail robbery, then racing to save the stagecoach from being ambushed, all while outwitting a cunning criminal who thought he’d vanished from the law’s reach.
Hopalong Cassidy auctions off Old Joad Harum’s farm, enlisting Whitey Whiskers to help prepare by moving linens and blankets from the top floor to the barn. Whitey reluctantly agrees for ten dollars, only to struggle painfully under the weight, tumbling down the stairs in a comical crash before finally delivering the crate.
