Hunter-Killer #5
In "Untitled," Mark Waid and Marc Silvestri deliver a tense, character-driven chapter of Hunter-Killer #5, where Ellis grapples with the moral weight of his missions as the Hunter-Killers eliminate ultra-sapiens without hesitation—most disturbingly, a brother and sister disguised as preschoolers. The story deepens with Ellis’s interview with Morningstar, who uses hypnosis to probe Ellis’s hidden past, uncovering memories tied to the volatile young ultra Samantha Argent. Marc Silvestri’s intense pencils, refined by Joe Weems’ inks, bring the psychological and physical stakes to life, while the layered coloring by Steve Firchow, Chad Fidler, John Starr, and Blond enhances the story’s brooding atmosphere.

As Ellis runs missions with the Hunter-Killers, he is disturbed by the fact that they seem to kill rather than capture all of the ultra-sapiens they encounter in the field. This is especially true when they confront and kill a brother and sister who have disguised themselves as preschoolers. This leads to Ellis having an interview with Morningstar where he tells the young man how they brought in and trained a powerful and unstable young ultra named Samantha Argent. Morningstar puts Ellis under hypnosis to try and discover some details about his mysterious past.
