Incognegro #[nn]
In "Incognegro," journalist Zane Pinchback—whose light skin lets him pass as white—returns to the segregated South after learning his brother has been arrested for murder. As he digs into the case, the truth about the victim proves far more tangled than expected, and the Klan’s growing suspicion of him puts his cover in jeopardy. Written by Mat Johnson and illustrated by Warren Pleece, with letters by Clem Robins and a cover by Stephen John Phillips, this powerful story unfolds with quiet tension and sharp social insight.

Zane Pinchback is an African-American journalist whose light skin tone enables him to pass for 'white' and publish exposes on the Ku Klux Klan. Learning his brother has been arrested for murder, Zane returns to the south he'd left behind but everything about the murder proves complicated as the murder victim isn't who everything thinks it is and the Klan have almost figured out who Zane is.
