"Indians" #9 is an anthology featuring two stories. "Long Bow and Manzar," about a white Indian boy, depicts tribal leadership disputes at ancient caves where unified chiefs debate whether to accept Manzar's plan, culminating in Manzar's victory celebration over a rival tribe. "Orphan of the Storm," by Emla Jayne, tells of a young orphan boy named Blue Loon who is tested by the tribe; after being injured and healed by the medicine man, he proves his courage by stopping a stampeding buffalo herd single-handedly using a battle chant, earning the tribe's respect and a new name, Blackfoot.
