Iron Man #125
In "The Monaco Prelude," Tony Stark hands over the Iron Man armor to the authorities and spirals into a reckless alcohol bender, forcing him to rely on his wits and a crash course in self-defense from Captain America. With help from Scott Lang at the Stark International research annex, Stark uncovers clues leading to Justin Hammer’s whereabouts—information that sends him and Rhodes on a dangerous mission to Monaco, where they’re immediately ambushed by Hammer’s forces. Written by Bob Layton and David Michelinie, with art by Bob Layton and John Romita Jr., and a cover by Bob Layton, this 1979 issue captures Stark at his most vulnerable, testing his limits without the armor’s protection.
