John Carter: The End #5

Two warriors clash sword-to-fist in the heat of battle on Garry Brown's kinetic cover, with a vast army surging across a burning amber sky behind them and what appears to be a massive beast sprawled beneath the combatants' feet. Brian Wood, Alex Cox, and Hayden Sherman bring Edgar Rice Burroughs' hero to this penultimate moment in "Onward to New Helium," a story title that crackles with both urgency and hope. If this fifth issue of John Carter: The End is any indication, Dynamite's 2017 miniseries is delivering the sweeping Martian warfare the character was born for.
