In "Operation Peeping John," Sergeant Wayne and his TNT unit must stop enemy artillery from being positioned on the hills outside town by infiltrating an enemy-held house and planting explosives in its walls before the artillery arrives. After successfully placing the charges and evacuating under fire, Wayne pursues the fleeing enemy commander Dodie through rough terrain, engaging in hand-to-hand combat before defeating him and taking him into custody. The issue also includes an educational feature on bronc busting in rodeos, explaining the techniques and dangers involved in the sport, including the use of spurs and the brief ten-second ride requirement.

Sergeant John Wayne and his hand-picked team are dropped behind enemy lines in Korea with orders to observe a suspected Communist build-up in the mountain town of Saesong and radio back intelligence—a dangerous mission that becomes even more complicated when Lieutenant Eaker is captured and American prisoners are brought into the very town where Wayne and his men are hiding. With an artillery barrage set to level the area at nightfall, Wayne must figure out how to complete the observation mission *and* save the prisoners before time runs out.

When John Wayne stumbles upon a dead man wearing homemade wings near a remote mountain pass, he and his companion Bonanza find themselves drawn into a family tragedy—a father's two sons locked in a destructive rivalry that has spiraled into madness and murder. As Wayne investigates further, he discovers that the younger son, obsessed with achieving flight through poetry and mechanics, has trapped hundreds of birds to construct his wings, and now sees Wayne as the perfect subject for his twisted experiments. Wayne must navigate the treacherous mountain terrain and Dodie's delusions to bring the situation under control before more blood is shed.
