Jonah Hex #4/1985
In "Korsriddaren," Jonah Hex faces a turning point in his past when he chooses to surrender to the Union Army at Fort Charlotte rather than fight in the Civil War. After his unit is captured, a failed escape leads to a brutal massacre, including the death of his friend Jeb Turnbull. Survivors, led by Jeb’s father Quentin, form the Fort Charlotte Brigade with one goal: to kill Jonah Hex for his role in the tragedy. Written by Michael Fleisher and Bengt Sahlberg, with art by Dick Ayers and Luis Dominguez, and a cover by Tony DeZuniga, this 1985 issue captures a pivotal moment in Hex’s haunted legacy.
