Jonah Hex #8
In "Prêtre par interim," Jonah Hex #8 (1987) delivers a quiet yet gripping moment in the dusty frontier, where Sheriff Walt grapples with his legacy as the so-called "gunfighter" while a reluctant boy steps into the role during a tense showdown with the Flat Hat Gang. Written by Robert Kanigher and illustrated with stark precision by Carmine Infantino, the story finds Walt questioning his identity—until a shy contest winner finds courage in the face of danger. The cover by Luis Dominguez captures the moment’s weight with a stark, expressive portrait of Walt’s doubt and resolve.
