"Sheena and the Stealthy Death" follows the jungle queen as she investigates a tiger terrorizing a village, with the witch doctor Mogra seeking her help to slay the beast that has killed villagers and warriors alike. Another story involves action in Egypt, where a character named Akir rules and various conflicts unfold involving slaves, combat, and schemes related to Rome and imprisonment. "The Lady Scarlett" begins a nautical adventure involving shipwrecks and seafaring characters, including references to the Eel's home port and Portsmouth.
Sheena, Queen of the Jungle, investigates a series of savage attacks linked to a mysterious figure known as the Scarlet Arrow, a man believed dead but now said to be a vengeful spirit. As she follows clues from burned villages and cryptic warnings, she uncovers a deception: the Scarlet Arrow is a fraud, a man using the legend to manipulate the natives and seize control of the valley’s resources.
Hateful Herman, a perpetually grumpy man with a mission to spread misery, takes delight in sabotaging moments of happiness—like a car owner’s joy at a new purchase or a bank robbery’s aftermath—only to be thwarted when everyone remains unharmed. His attempts to ruin cheerful scenes backfire as he grows increasingly frustrated by the world’s refusal to embrace his brand of gloom.
