Jungle Comics #2
In "Mad Jackals Hunt by Night," Simba faces a crisis when his cubs are stolen and his mate, Mrs. Simba, is wounded—driving her into a frenzy that turns her against the jungle. As the animals gather in fear, a council is called to decide her fate, but the truth of her suffering and Simba’s resolve will test the balance of power. Written by Ed Hunt and illustrated by the Iger Shop with art by Alvin Hollingsworth and inks by the Iger Shop, this 1949 tale from Jungle Comics #2 blends primal tension and animal politics in a story that’s as much about leadership as it is survival. The cover by the Iger Shop captures the wild, untamed mood of the jungle under threat.
