Jungle Comics #42 is an anthology featuring multiple stories. "Kaanga, Jungle Lord" follows the title character as he trails a zombie blood pack to a temple of no return and becomes embroiled with Simba, the last animal in the village, while the natives plan to kill him with arrows and deadly barbs. Another story involves a foreign boat crew searching the sea lanes off Kheffa for a map that points to a small empire called Khefra, with the captain hoping to strip the land and its mummy; the expedition is discovered by Hakoan, who presents himself as an obstacle to conquest, while a woman named Raina leads an armed resistance against Nazi forces in the jungle. The issue also features stories with characters including Wambi the Jungle Boy, Camilla, and Simba.
