The sheriff sends a letter to a suspect in a bank robbery knowing this would make him a target. He tells the doctor if he doesn't return by 10:00 AM then he has probably been killed and one of five men had done it. When the sheriff does not return, the doctor gathers the five men together to determine who the killer is.
