Junie, cast as an airline hostess in her school's play, is thrust into a real-life flight when a photo shoot at the airport leads to her being mistaken for the actual hostess on a plane. Junie panics after learning she’s gained two pounds and vows to lose weight through increasingly absurd exercises, from lifting weights to riding a bike with Lollie, only to end up trapped in her mom’s steam cabinet. After a chaotic session of sweating and being rubbed down, she finally realizes the scale was broken all along—her weight was never the issue.

Dexter and his father scramble to surprise his mother on her birthday after forgetting to buy a gift, deciding instead to cook her dinner and later pivot to throwing a surprise party when their cooking goes hilariously awry. As smoke fills the house and neighbors rush to help, the family reveals their true plan: a joyful celebration to honor her, complete with dancing and heartfelt gestures.
