After returning from their honeymoon, Lois wants to put her education to work helping Jack in his nursery business. Jack is conscious of his lack of education and family background compared to Lois. As Lois becomes more and more engrossed in the business, Jack begins to develop a stutter, then becomes morose. After the family doctor talks to Lois about Jack's condition, Lois feigns an inability to cope at work. She tells Jack that he is a capable man, while she is only a weak woman who bit off more than she could chew.
