“Sara”

In "Sara," Justice returns to Manhattan to rescue a young girl named Sara from a drug-fueled street gang, using his powers to heal her after her ordeal. When the gang captures her again, Justice fights to save her, but tragedy strikes when one of them kills Sara before he can intervene. The story, written and illustrated by Geof Isherwood with inks by Vince Colletta, colors by Bob Sharen, and letters by Rick Parker, is a stark, emotionally charged moment in the series, with a cover by Isherwood that captures the weight of the moment.
