Obsidian senses a dangerous presence outside the JSA brownstone and cloaks the building in a shield, trapping Wildcat, Green Lantern, Flash, and Liberty Belle inside. When Stargirl tries to warm a man who has collapsed outside, something enters her body. Under its control, Stargirl blasts her way into headquarters. The spirit reveals itself as that of the World War II villain Kung and transports the four trapped JSAers and Hourman to Hiroshima just before the US dropped the atomic bomb. While the remaining JSAers try to figure out what happened to their colleagues, the Spectre appears.
