# Justice Traps the Guilty #89 This anthology issue contains several crime stories. One features John Jesstun, a popular Madison, Wisconsin bachelor and entertainer skilled in hypnotism and card tricks, who hypnotizes a wealthy brewer's wife at a party as a joke; when she falls under his spell and declares her love for him, the brewer sues for alienation of affections, forcing Jesstun to hypnotize her again to break the spell and reverse the situation. The "Closeups" section also discusses FBI crime statistics and includes the case of Miss Eva Melode, a hotel resident found dead beside an automobile, whose murderer is caught through detective work involving a hotel key found on her body. Additional stories and crime case histories round out the issue, which includes period advertisements for muscle-building courses and a Mickey Mouse home film projector.
