Ken Maynard investigates a plague of coyotes attacking local shepherds, hoping that Pete Piper—a legendary figure comparable to the Pied Piper of Hamelin—can lure the varmints away as he claims. However, Ken discovers that Pete Piper is a con man who has been secretly causing the coyote attacks himself. Boxcar Benny appears in a separate story titled "Feet Folly," in which two prospectors argue over whether Benny's worn-out shoes are patent-leather shoes, leading to comic complications involving their feet.
