Private detective Ken Shannon investigates the murder of a man killed with a stone hatchet near Haigg's house at an old rock glen picnic ground. After discovering the murderer attempted to flee by motor cruiser, Shannon pursues and apprehends the killer through a series of confrontations. The case concludes with Shannon delivering the criminal to authorities and receiving commendation from a police lieutenant for his detective work.
