Kid Montana discovers a wanted criminal hiding in an old mine and pursues him, engaging in a gunfight with the outlaw inside. After defeating the criminal, Kid Montana is arrested by a sheriff who believes him responsible for the crime, but a professor offers to help by claiming the Kid as his assistant and securing his release. The story continues with Kid Montana getting involved in a card game where Otto Rusk wins a substantial sum, and when Rusk is murdered, suspicion falls on Kid Montana, who must prove his innocence and uncover the real killer.
