"Fiddlefoot" features Kid Montana discovering that a man he knows is actually his brother, a wanted outlaw nicknamed "Hooker" who has been eluding capture across the West. The resolution finds Kid Montana defending his brother against a bushhacker, ultimately leading to a confrontation where Kid Montana must face his brother's criminal past. The issue also includes "Poor Prospector," a text story by John R. Cook recounting his experiences as a buffalo hunter and gold prospector in the Old West, including adventures with military officers and mining expeditions in Colorado and New Mexico.
Kid Montana thought he'd finally found peace when he took refuge at the Tenant ranch under an assumed name, leaving his guns behind and his violent past with them—but when the ruthless rancher Farr moves to seize the valley through intimidation and force, Kid discovers that some conflicts demand the very skill he was trying to escape. As the Quaker family he's come to care for faces ruin, Kid must decide whether his newfound peace is worth the price of standing by and watching good people suffer.
Kirk Farrel has spent ten years running from his past—framed by outlaw Ace Devlin in a robbery scheme that forced him to abandon his family and home—until Kid Montana convinces him to stop fleeing and face down the gang at their hideout. As the two face off against Devlin and his men, Kirk discovers the courage he's been missing all along, and a path back to the life he left behind. But Kid Montana has other plans for the road ahead.
Benby's been planning his jailbreak for a year, and when Sheriff Hake finally locks him up, the moment arrives—he uses a hidden key to escape at dawn and executes a carefully plotted trail designed to lose any pursuit. But as Benby reaches the remote shack where he stashed $43,000 in gold before his arrest, he discovers that Sheriff Hake anticipated his every move.
Andrew Hale, the meek banker's son, is forced at gunpoint by the outlaw Wexler to open his father's vault in a daring robbery—but when shame drives him to flee town, he stumbles into Satana, where Wexler finds him again and pushes him too far. A mysterious stranger named Moe intervenes, and over the next two months, transforms the timid young man into someone with real backbone, setting Andrew on a collision course with the outlaw who started it all.
Kid Montana finds himself caught between feuding brothers when he rescues Art Hooker from a bushwhacker—only to discover the "victim" and his brother Sime are ruthless cattle rustlers who've just robbed a local rancher. When the brothers head back to their hideout to divide the stolen money, Kid Montana tracks them down, unarmed and outnumbered. Using his wits and knowledge of their mutual distrust, he's determined to turn the tables on the Hooker brothers and bring them to justice.
