The issue contains two main stories. "Ol' Smokey" follows a sharpshooter named Ol' Smokey who performs Wild West stunts including curving six-gun slugs around rocks and making covered wagons fly, until he arrives at Custer's Last Stand where he faces unexpected challenges. The second story features a young aviator named Billy who, after receiving his first flying lesson from Pop, borrows a plane to practice and nearly crashes it, then attempts to siphon gas from the aircraft with comedic results, eventually managing to take the plane for a flight.

Injun Trouble
7 pp · Humor, Western-Frontier

Jesse Jimmy stumbles into an Indian reservation intending to steal the sacred Rain God statue, only to accidentally break a fake one made in Brooklyn. When the tribe discovers the theft, he’s captured and sentenced to be burned at the stake—only to be spared when the chief reveals the statue was a joke, and the real one was never in danger.

Custer's Last Stand
8 pp · Humor, Western-Frontier

Ol' Smoky recounts a wildly exaggerated tale of his heroic role in the Battle of Little Bighorn, claiming he single-handedly outsmarted Sitting Bull and nearly saved Custer—though his "brilliant" plan involves disguising himself as a Sioux, surviving a fiery ordeal, and launching a sapling like a projectile to destroy an ammunition wagon. As he narrates, his impossible feats are met with disbelief from his companion, Lil Cactus, who struggles to believe such a story could be true—especially when the tale ends with Smoky miraculously landing miles away, watching the battle unfold from a mountain.
