In "L'Avenir," Superman, having just severed Gog’s head and bound the god to the Source Wall with Starman’s aid, realizes his journey isn’t complete. With the JSA still recovering from the battle, he asks Starman to return him to his own world—just as he was taken from it, down to the exact moment and place. There, Superman prepares to fulfill his destiny, stepping back into the world he left behind.
