Knockout Comic #487 is an anthology issue featuring three stories. "Daffy the Deputy Sheriff" depicts a bank robbery on marked bank-busting days, with a note sent to the bank and a jail break that Daffy must stop, ultimately capturing the criminals. "Tough and Happy and the Runaway Orphans" follows two characters as they encounter orphans fleeing their home, leading to a dangerous encounter with a bull in a field before the children are safely returned. "School of the Clouds" tells of two chums, Bob and Ginger, who discover a mysterious school in the clouds above a mill, encountering strange phenomena and pursuing shadows before finding themselves trapped in an increasingly dangerous situation.
