Published by Dupuis in 2019, this sixth volume of L'Atelier Mastodonte brings together a remarkable eleven-creator collective — Alfred, Domecq, Feroumont, Jousselin, Jouvray, Monfreid, Nicoby, Nob, Obion, Toulmé, and Trondheim — for another round of collaborative comics chaos. The cover says it all: a table full of wildly varied cartoon characters hunched over sheets covered in comic panels, pens in hand, while ghostly blue-tinted waiters hover around the edges bearing trays of food nobody seems to have time to eat. It's a warm, witty snapshot of the studio-workshop spirit at the heart of this series, where the act of making comics is itself the comedy.
