The third volume of Grégory Mardon's L'extravagante comédie du quotidien arrives with a cover that perfectly captures its absurdist spirit: a tiny dark figure — half-man, half-rabbit — scurries along a city street utterly dwarfed by the towering legs of a woman in violet heels, the glowing urban skyline stretching behind them. Titled Le dernier homme, this 2012 Dupuis release promises the same warmly observed, off-kilter comedy of everyday life that defines the series. A delightful addition to one of Franco-Belgian comics' more charmingly peculiar ongoing works.
