Éric Stalner's Route 66-infused thriller continues with this second volume, subtitled Missouri, and the cover sets a brooding, rain-soaked tone immediately. A menacing figure in a white suit, clown nose, and bow tie grips a rifle against a stormy dark backdrop — an unsettling collision of the sinister and the absurd that promises something far from ordinary. Dargaud's 2007 release looks like a compelling ride down a very dark stretch of American highway.
