This opening volume of the two-part La Malbête series, set in 18th-century France, reimagines the historical Beast of Gévaudan legend through a dark fantasy lens. Written by Christophe Bec and illustrated by Stefano Martino, the story follows Monsieur Antoine as he arrives in the Gévaudan region to investigate a series of brutal attacks blamed on a mysterious, supernatural creature.
