A wandering medicine man disguises himself with a medicine man's mask and head to infiltrate the ranch during an outdoor celebration, intending to poison the food and frame Lash LaRue, but Lash discovers the plot and stops him. The issue also contains two humor features: "Wagonwheels—The Cold Facts!" about a prize fighter, and "Molasses Mouth—He's No Picnic," involving a character and a town picnic that may be rained out and rescheduled.

In a dusty frontier town, the arrival of a traveling circus brings danger and deception, as the roving marshal Lash LaRue investigates the suspicious death of a lion tamer and uncovers a deadly plot behind the big top. When a cunning performer attempts to kill him using a series of staged accidents, Lash uses his wits and signature bullwhip to outsmart the killer before the truth is revealed.
Lash Larue, the roving marshal, investigates when Kit Hunter’s nephew, Bill, arrives at the Bar Double X Ranch only to be told his uncle is injured and forbidden from being seen. Suspicious that no one has heard the supposedly bedridden Kit and that the doctor never appeared, Bill confides in Lash, who uncovers a shocking deception involving a disguised impostor and a hidden cache of stolen money.
A young man named Alec arrives in town claiming to be a big game hunter, only to reveal he’s been hunting tickets to sports games—much to Dusty’s amusement. When Dusty boasts of his own daring hunting exploits, including a terrifying chase from July all the way to January, Alec’s disbelief leads to a laughable showdown of exaggerated tales.
Lash LaRue rides to the rescue when a band of Indians, led by his friend Fleet Deer, begins acting strangely during a celebration at the inherited ranch. After the festivities turn chaotic, Lash discovers the tribe has been manipulated by a fake medicine man who dosed their food with loco weed to incite violence. As the tribe's behavior grows erratic, Lash must uncover the truth behind the sabotage before the peace terms of the will are broken.
